I feel blessed that there was a holiday on last Friday due to the "Seclusion day" that Hindu believers have to practise. That means, holiday for me. My workmates and I went on a trip to Lake Toba. It was 3 days and two nights stay there, and it's definitely not enough for me. This place easily overcome even the most pretentious list of the ten
most beautiful lakes,if more people actually knew it existed, but hey, when I got there, especially to Tuk-Tuk, I saw many foreigners there, compared to last time I came here, there were only view.So from Parapat, we crossed to Tuk-Tuk located in Samosir island using regular ferry.
I went biking, and believe me, I was running out of breath that fast, reminding how feeble I have become. I do need to bike more often! >_< Check out some of the pics I took there. How breathtaking views they are!

UMSU Debate Open 2012
It's nice to meet my debating friends again. I feel like going back to my university years when I debated lots. Really miss my old days... Wish I could go back to the university! :)

Busy life
Feels like it will take quite some time before I can spread my wings and start flying again. I'm trapped in this city, trapped in a whirling craziness in these few years, I really hope by next year, everything will be better and I am a changed person. Someone told me today, it's always good to learn something out of suffering, we never know that we can actually push our limit to the best. Anyway, It's nice to hang out last night, sometimes I do need it. And thanks to Hans and Ivy, I can have the pillow I always want. My kero keroppi!

War Horse (2011)
War Horse is a beautiful anti war movie, depicting the friendship of a man and a horse, and even separated by war, they manage to find each other in the end. I've just listed this as one of my most favourite movies of all time. I cried a lot when I watched some of the scenes and the film scores are just beautiful. The emotional depth is remarkable. It tugs my heartstrings so much with its stories and the ending is just moving.
War Horse is not always believable but is, I think, a cinematic achievement. Spielberg is a great commentator on the human condition and a masterful storyteller who always elicits an emotional response. The scene with Joey struggling through barbed wire brought gasps and tears from me. It's undeniably sentimental. This is for anyone who isn't grouchy or jaded. It's an old-fashioned epic that predictably tugs at your heart strings.
80% for the movie! A must watch!

More hours please
These few days I have been trying to make my tasks organized. So I start making to-do-lists, and I find them useful. At least to remind my complicated mind. I have too many projects need to be done by next week, I also just accept new students, and on a Saturday! I officially have no life now. Interestingly though, I find it challenging to work every day. I find it annoying when I know a day is only 24 hours. I WANT MORE HOURS! I need to improve my English, watch movies, and still manage to complete my work. I also want to cook better and better. My favourite AFC channel is Chef at home by Michael Smith. He makes cooking very interesting. That and other wildlife documentaries are shows I won't miss on TV. How I wish I had more hours!

Almost robbed!
This evening was a terrifying and annoying one, I almost got robbed around jl Malaka. Sheila, Alex and Fredy and I planned to watch a cinema, but the tickets were sold out, so we planned to eat sate padang in Jl. Malaka. Anyway, what happened was two robbers on a motorbike were trying to snatch my bag when I was at the back while Fredy was driving. The bag strap was around my body, so I was pulled down, I fell down, and Fredy as well fell down. The robbers did not manage to take away the bag, and we had no big injuries just some scratches. The people on the street started approaching us and helping us. It was a shocker, yet I think it's a good learning experience for me, I won't take my bag again.
Lesson: Put your money and mobile phone in your pants pocket! Never bring around the bag especially if we are on the streets walking or driving motorbike. I'm glad I am fine and my friend as well as his motorbike are ok too.

Karaoke
I don't normally do karaoke. Don't get me wrong, I love singing, but in a bathroom, maybe cos of the echo effect and cos I am alone there. I also love listening to songs. But to sing in karaoke room with some friends, um, not my cuppa tea. Anyway, last Saturday we decided to hang out in karaoke thanks to Fredy who did not want to watch a cinema and I have to admit, it's quite fun.

The Halloween celebration at IEC Hayam Wuruk was a success. I believe both the teachers and the students were having fun. The teachers of course, for them it's time to torture the kids, hehehe. Some of the children were pretty scared, but they got lots of sweets home. Some must have had the nightmare last night.
