Would he love me?

She wept as her days dragged sadly by.
Never had she felt such desperate sighs.
For he who held her heart never paused
Though she told him boldly, would he thaw.

All she ever wanted was to share, not to burden
Her love was real and not to cause any pain
She passed his heart door and knocked on his heart
Did he ever peek to look and let me in?

Oh, what would it take to catch his eye?
How to interest such a handsome guy?
She moaned and groaned almost every night.
Could he even see how he was in my sight?
But maybe he kept his heart windows sealed up tight.

So one gray night she took him a cupcake,
Chocolate with nuts, and he was awake.
He answered the door and invited her in.
Oh, my, she thought. What a gorgeous grin.

Ah, the night was young, with barely a moon.
So they played music and danced to a tune.
And Cath sighed, so happy at last
His arms were around her, holding her fast.

The moon slipped behind the clouds of gray,
And darkness plunged all the light away.
Cath laughed when she felt him bite down,
But then sighed and died with an ashen frown.

saying "I love you..."
