The lovely Bones (2009)
The Lovely Bones is a movie adaptation of Alice Sebold's best seller book. Peter Jackson is great, he manages to make the movie touching, suspenseful enough and catching my attention till the end of the movie, from dealing with teenage romance then a serial killer that kills the girl ruining her life, and her dad becomes obsessed with finding the killer, yet the girl finds another life, in her own box of heaven. The film-making is bold, and not only is the movie emotional but also intellectual in a way. Despite all this, somehow I think some parts of the plot are not that relevant, hard to grasp. The performance of the murderer was excellent leaving the audience with the "that could happen to me" feeling. The depiction of the afterlife was less than perfect and seemed to take away from the plot which drives the movie well enough by itself. But overall a movie worth watching.
I give this movie 60% fresh! So, worth watching anyway!
